Chi-Town

As a tradition now, my mom and I take a trip with my best friend (Morgan) and her mom (Ann).  Two years ago, we all went to NYC for a week (along with Ann's mom) and it was a COMPLETE blast! We were very touristy, much the same as this trip to Chi-town.  I love Chicago, and it's a great weekend getaway from Indiana.  Enjoy a recap of our trip in pictures (cause pictures are the only way to do a proper travel recap).

Photo Shoot

My sister, over at Red, White & Marine Wife is a photographer and her services can be found at Kymberly Ann Photography!  She asked me to be her photo subject, and I happily obliged, because 1. who doesn't want to get some free glamour shots? 2. I love putting together outfits, and 3. I knew she'd make me look great!  Here are some of my favs:

Later, my boyfriend - Jake - came over and he was happy (maybe? maybe not?) to partake in the photos!

If you're in the Indiana area, make sure to look her up if you need a photographer!

Body of Work

I was scrolling through Pinterest, like any old day, and I came across this book:

As a pre-med student and lover of all things anatomy/medical/gross, I was drawn to this book just from reading the description - "A hauntingly moving memoir of the relationship between a cadaver named Eve and the first-year medical student who cuts her open".  I ordered it from Amazon and I'm greatly looking forward to reading this one!  It's been ages since I've had time to read for enjoyment (textbooks ruin any reading fun one may want to have).  I know I'm going to love it already, from page 1.

Dispel from your mind the thought
that an understanding
of the human body
in every aspect
of its structure
can be given in words...

MCAT Prep

IT'S HAPPENING.

MCAT.

IN 3 MONTHS.

In a quest for the perfect MCAT score, I'm about to forego all life sustaining necessities - Netflix, Pinterest, Target, sleep - to devote every spare second in my life to studying for this beast.  I've taken a practice test, and baselined myself at a 31 (out of a possible 45).  Anything above 30 is competitive for medical school admissions; I'm shooting for a 35 or better!  More to come as studying begins.....

Magical Miles

It's hard to believe it's been a whole year since my mom, sister, and I completed the Walt Disney World Marathon last January!  It was such a fun trip and a memorable experience; I never dreamed that I'd compete in a marathon, let alone at Disney!  Here is just a quick recap from our trip:

Race swag (woot woot!)

Cinderella's Castle....sigh...

No Disney trip is complete without dinner @ the Castle!

View from the race - Magic Kingdom

The finish! After 26.2 miles!

The most beautiful medal I have ever laid eyes on.

Sweaty, dead tired, but so proud of our accomplishment!

Missing Disney, but excited for a return trip in 2015!

Back Again!

I'm finally back again after ages of not partaking in the blogging world....life has been so busy!  Just recently, I finished my first semester of my junior year in college (time flies!) and I found myself in need of some new school gear.  Over the years I've essentially destroyed several backpacks thanks to oversized textbooks, so my father recommended the site: www.besttravelbackpackguide.com to help me find the perfect backpack for my laptop and my textbooks.

He stumbled across this site while he was planning a summer trip for him and my mother to Europe.  I just ordered one of the recommended backpacks and I can't wait for it to arrive just in the time for the new semester!  I highly recommend checking this website out, especially if you're traveling, or need a new backpack for a fresh, new semester.

Happy New Year!
