Madison

Madison.....Indiana, not Wisconsin.  This weekend, my mom, my aunt Pam, and myself went to visit my aunt Ruth (she's a Veterinarian, she's pretty awesome!) in Madison. She moved to Madison a few years ago, and this was my first visit to see her there.  First, let's all just appreciate how darn adorable her house is:

We arrived on Friday night, quite late, so our festivities didn't start until Saturday morning.  We went to a few regular, old shops we have at home in the morning, and then we went to downtown Madison for the rest of the day to shop - of course!  I wasn't quite sure what to anticipate coming to Madison and what it would look like, but it was really neat!

Later Saturday evening we went to Kentucky (just across the bridge) and then dinner at this little place on Main Street called Bistro One, where I happily stuffed my face - I had the Bistro Tilapia, the hummus with pita bread, and of course, lots and lots of bread; all of which was later walked off around town, and followed by a generous serving of ice cream for dessert!

Today, we got up early and went to Clifty Falls State Park and had breakfast at the Inn, followed by a short hike to the Little and Big Clifty Falls.

And after we took in the hike, we explored town some more - went to Goodwill! -  and then headed to lunch at the Stream Cliff Farm Winery - a winery/restaurant/plant nursery.  The food was delicious, the decor was adorable, and the plants were beautiful!

I really enjoyed this trip to Madison and I hope to take another one soon!

A Little Pre-Med Motivation.....

Indy Mini & First Day Back

On Saturday, May 4, my Mom, Dad, sister, Jake, and I ran the Indy Mini....over 38,000 runners participated!  It was perfect running weather, cloudy, but the temperatures were great.  We didn't achieve our personal bests, but we still had a great time running through Indianapolis and on the Indy Motor Speedway!

.....and of course, first day back at school. 

Almost There!

At long last, the spring semester has almost drawn to a close.  The weather is beautiful, the temperatures are warmer, and the finals are almost over!  Hallelujah!  I'm so excited for this semester to be over.....it wasn't my best effort, but it wasn't my worst either.  I just simply try to improve each semester, and I think I'm slowly making my climb back up after a few bad grades at the beginning of my college career.  Those 5 credit hour classes will get ya (especially GPA-wise!)!  Anywho, I've tackled three of my six finals thus far, The Computer in Business, Global Foods and Appetites, and Genetics (let's just say the Genetics final did NOT go well, sadly). Tomorrow holds Organic Chemistry Lab, and Sociology, and Friday holds Cognitive Psychology.  Then freedom....for three days.....until summer classes start up!
